Roosevelt’s Timber Army Marches on the Badger State: The CCC in Wisconsin
March 10th | 11:30am-12:30pm
The Civilian Conservation Corps was one of several federal responses to the economic and environmental crisis facing the United States during the Great Depression. Guests will get a glance at how it served a dual purpose of employing millions of men and women, not only providing steady pay and job training, but also establishing and restoring parks and natural resources. During this presentation we will look at how the CCC and similar programs not only benefited tens of thousands of Wisconsinites during the Great Depression, but also how their hard work can still be seen today throughout the state.
